Captain Marvel #8 Thoughts and Spoilers (Guest Appearance)

Quick Spoilers...

- We get the preview, with T'challa expressing his concern with the use of Ulysses

- T'challa continues to express various concerns. Carol addresses them by showing all she is doing to make sure the visions are correct and the proper steps are taken. There is a control room which monitors Ulysses (T'challa expresses concern of his status quo as well) and another room with various experts (lawyers, diplomats, physicists) to make sure things are done the right way.

- Carol then goes and talks to Barton. Or yell at Barton.

- T'challa goes with Carol and Kamala to stop a possible threat from Thundersword.

- They get to his house and find the award that was building energy. They arrest him for violating his parol but then his wife is mad because there is no one to watch the kids and such.

- Carol talks to Gilrich. They discuss stuff, including ol' dude going back to prison and the problems that it will cause for his family. She says he doesn't deserve prison as he didn't set off the award and it was activated remotely but Peter doesn't care.

- T'challa shows up. They will talk to the Ultimates to try and find the Beyonder and maybe get answers from him. He also says Wakanda payed ol' dudes bail so he could go back home until his hearing.

- T'challa and Carol seem to end on the same note and at an understanding.

- Carol's approval rating is increasing.

Thoughts...

- I was really hoping that this issue, combined with the Ultimates, would be the beginning of T'challa leaving Carol's side and joining Starks. However, the doesn't appear to be the case at all. But I guess tie ins have to sync together with the main book where T'challa was firmly on Carol's side at the super hero show down.

- At least it was a rational discussion between the two. Sounded like two, high functioning adults bringing valid points to the argument without getting hot headed. Carol's side of things looked much better here... but it is her book so of course it is. Her side looked terrible in All New All Different Wolverine for instance.

Black Panther Comes to Avengers Assemble September 25

The last episode of Season Three of the cartoon "Avengers Assemble" has been titled "Panther's Rage."

I think we all know who they are talking about there....

Captain Marvel #12 Preview (BP Appearance)

T'challa is getting sick of Carol's shit.

A king should be very worried about a super hero group that runs into countries willy nilly without giving a shit. Plus... a king shouldn't be hopping around in sovereign nations anyway.

Please, please please have T'challa switch sides. Punishment before crime is never a good look, especially not after what happened in All New All Different Wolverine last issue.

The Ultimates #10: Spoilers and Thoughts

Quick Spoilers...

- We get another look at the CWII "brief case scene" from the Ultimates view point. Basically, Adam doesn't like it, T'challa is concerned about it and taking notes on what may need to be done to stop it, and Chavez is all about stopping it now, with her fists.

- Cut to the preview scene where Chavez throws a chair. She then takes care of Monica by sending her to a different dimension.

- Carol asks T'challa to do something... he responds that he is but sitting back and taking notes essentially. And then says he will take aciton as he sees fit, and she will know it.

- We also have the Thanos/Anti-Man plot line. In the page 1 review from Vogt, we here that they aren't sure Thanos even has psychic abilities... we know that he doesn't though as he manipulates Anti Man to breaking out of his cell and killing two people.

- The break out gets the Ultimates attention, T'challa didn't think that was even possible. The breakout causes power to go out for a few seconds... which is plenty long enough for Thanos to break free.

Thoughts...

- This was easily my favorite issue so far. I have really liked the issues on Earth a lot more than the abstract space stuff.

- T'challa was pure Priest T'challa here. Sitting back, observing, and thinking of counter-measures... when its appropriate.

- The next issue should be insane. Ultimates vs Thanos. The continue schism of the Ultimates. And hopefully, we start to see what T'challa is planning.

Next Three The Totally Awesome Hulk Issues Could Feature Black Panther

T'challa keeps popping up here and there in the Totally Awesome Hulk, including and awesome teaser last issue of the Panthertron.

The Ultimates #10 Preview

CIVIL WAR II TIE-IN!

- The one thing that could tear the Ultimates apart forever is inside that briefcase...

- ...and someone just opened it.

- Meanwhile, Thanos is ready to strike. And he has an ally...

- Color me intrigued!

- All the preview art for CWII had T'challa and MAC on Tony's side. But, so far, T'challa has been seen more on Carol's side... so maybe this is the beginning of the switch over for T'challa?

- And that last panel is super intriguing... T'challa just sitting there, arms crossed, doing nothing. Is he watching to see what happens? Does he have something else planned? Contingency plans for any of the super overpowered peeps on his team? Or is this just a cock tease lol?

Ewing is a fan of Priest Panther so... could be good.

Black Panther #5: Spoilers and Thoughts

Spoilers...

- We essentially start with the preview. T'challa has combined his soul stalking ability with Eden's teleportation, allowing him to instantly teleport anywhere at anytime. We get no reason to why Eden decided to help or anything. He is just there.

- We get back to the base and here they have been able to track multiple locations like this. T'challa sends Eden away to rest and T'challa, the HZ general, and Hodari head to a meeting.

- ... with counterterrorism, dictator white dudes??? Basically people who have crushed rebellions in their country and rule with an iron fist. He has summoned them and paid them for advice on dealing with the rebels?????

- We then head to Shuri's vague story, which just appears to be running in place.

- Cut to the best part of this issue, which is T'challa talking to one of the suicide bombers he has revived. It is a great discussion with valid points on both sides. In the end. T'challa convinces the ma to honor his country, by reminding him of his brother he loved. They have a "pact" and T'challa tells him to speak of it to no man (I think this may be identical to what T'challa said to the thug in The Client).

- Next, we see Tetu, Zenzi, and Stane talking to one of the same counter intelligence guys T'challa brought in for council. He tells them what he told T'challa... basically to create chaos until the people reveal the rebels to him. He then says that T'challa rejected his advice and Zenzi states that it is because he wants to be a hero, not a king. Stane then kills this guy.

- The speech from this guy is then broadcasts throughout Wakanda and even to Storm... but without the part about T'challa rejecting it.

Thoughts...

- Inviting a bunch of evil men for advise is "T'challa getting smart." "T'challa getting focused." I guess we found out why the UN wants to talk to T'challa. Dude's lost his god damn mind.

- Coates is literally just like Hickman, so I guess he really did like Hickman's T'challa. You get flashes of the real T'challa here (just like you got flashes in Hickman's run) but in the overall grand scheme of things... he is acting like a damn idiot and completely out of character.

- Shuri's journey has just turned into a bunch of mumbo jumbo that isn't really going anywhere.

- Stane is now one of the boys instead of providing tech for Tetu.

- This book is boring. Just straight boring. It is so decompressed it might as well be a graphic novel. The action is short and pathetic. Its just vague, flowery bullshit every single issue.

- This is going to be the most epic conclusion in T'challa's solo history, or the worst run in this characters existence, making Doom War look like Priest's run. Judging by Coates complete disregard of T'challa's abilities, I imagine it will be the latter. I honestly cannot understand how a T'challa fan could honestly enjoy this run.

Black Panther #5 Solicit and Preview

- “A SWORD FOR LIONS” STARTS NOW!

- Ta-Nehisi Coates is joined by guest artist and modern master Chris Sprouse for the second arc chronicling the final days of the kingdom of Wakanda!

- As Zenzi and The People poison the citizens of Wakanda against the Black Panther, a cabal of nation-breakers is assembled…

- With his allies dwindling, T’Challa must rely on his elite secret police, the Hatut Zeraze, and fellow Avenger Eden Fesi, a.k.a. Manifold!

- Meanwhile, Shuri’s spirit journeys through The Djalia…but what awaits her there?

- That first variant is LEGIT.

- Shout out to Contest of Champions! Too damn bad I don't have ANY of the BP's :(

- This preview continues to add to my hope that T'challa will finally become the central figure in this book like he should be. Still don't understand the over-reliance on that force push but it is what it is on that front.

- Curious to see how Eden factors into this.
