Dope Avengers: Infinity War Art

Black Panther Teaser Trailer Thoughts...

- What a time to be alive! This trailer definitely teased so many different elements without giving anything away at all. And hell, the main characters didn't even speak!

- Let's get the superficial stuff out of the way from the get go. Despite the CGI obviously not being completed, this movie simply looks beautiful. From the various costumes and costume designs of the Doras, Shuri, Black Panther, tribal elders, and to Wakanda itself... it is just awesome. I loved different looks of the different tribes. Very visually distinctive. And the soundtrack was just plain dope.

- The trailer was almost an introduction to Wakanda as much as it was an introduction to Black Panther. Neat to tie it to the legend of El Dorado and to use Klaw as the narrator.

- First thing that struck me was the iconic Black Panther in a tree pose followed by some goons getting absolutely obliterated. This is an MCU, peak human tradition... when they hit regular dudes, regular dudes go flying (see Captain America on the carrier for instance). Good to see the MCU continue to nail power levels. And Panther seems to have an extra dose of speed and agility as well.

- And, this Black Panther seems "basic" as hell, which I love. My favorite iterations of the character are See Wakanda and Die, Earth's Mightiest Heroe's, and MCU Civil War versions. These versions were defined by their ability to kick ass and take names with no fancy gadgets. This teaser showed a T'challa that relied on his strength, speed, agility, and fighting skills... not on energy gauntlets, camo, and other stupid "extra" stuff he doesn't need. Now we just need to see that strategic, brilliant brain of his....

- I do still have to warm up to MJB as Killmonger. Just not quite as... physical as I would imagine due to his height. The blades look cool as hell and I am lovin' the hair. Dude can act for sure, so when he gets to speak in any upcoming trailers, it should put my fears to rest.

- Didn't get a good look at many of the Doras, other than their costumes are dope and it seems they all use different weapons which is cool.

- Shuri looks GREAT. The tech thing... we will get to that at a later time lol. But I love the face markings and the tech gauntlet things could be cool. Panther Gauntlet Guns! What a time to be alive!!

- Zuri... well, that ain't muh Zuri, who is one of my favorite supporting characters ever (RIP). But, Forrest can act so I will roll with it.

- Klaw looks and sounds menacing.. a far cry from his comic book joke status. Apparently, he is getting his sonic arm via Wakandan mining equipment so that could be cool.

- Yo, is the tribal elder in green Achebe? Please say yes lol.

- And like we all expected, M'baku ain't dressed as a fucking monkey. And good lord, dude looked huge. It was interesting that M'baku and Killmonger were fighting... I assumed M'baku would be an early movie sub boss for T'challa to beat on but maybe not.

All in all... this teaser exceeded my expectations big time. Man, I wish this movie didn't get pushed back to February. DAMN YOU SPIDER-MAN 86!

Black Panther Movie: First Poster, Trailer Tonight, EDIT: New Synopsis

I don't do breaking news, but this is too huge to pass up!

The first teaser trailer for Black Panther is tonight! Expect my trailer thoughts first thing in the morning!

EDIT:

And here is the updated synopsis

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life

Possible Shooting Site for Wakanda in Black Panther

If this doesn't scream Warrior Falls, I don't know what does.

Killmonger or T'challa is taking a tumble for sure.

Concept Art of Wakanda from Captain America: Civil War

There is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much water for my liking. But I see what they are going for in keeping the country isolated due to natural land barriers.

Just too much water.

Excited for the real deal in February!

The Cast Expands for the Black Panther Movie

At the New York comicon last week, Marvel Studios announced some more casting additions for Black Panther. And holy moly, Priest's run is coming to life with a dash of... Coates?

Forest Whitaker: Zuri

- This is surprising. Zuri is best known for being a monster of a man, epic warrior, friend of Thor, and also comic relief due to his shenanigans. But Forest got talent so I'll take it

Daniel Kaluuya: W'kabi

- The question becomes, will he have a bionic arm?

Florence Kasumba: Ayo

- She played the Dora in Civil War but she has now been given an official name. This brings our Dora count to 3 and I would expect Aneka to be announced at some point as well.

Winston Duke: M'baku

- This was known before comicon. The question becomes... how "apey" will he be, is he working with Killmonger or being set up for a future movie?

Right now, this cast is stellar and LARGE. Paralleling the Thor franchise a lot. There is at least one huge announcement we need (Ramonda) but there are other possibilities out there as well, such as S'yan, Taku, QDJ, Hunter... as well as confirmation of Klaw being in the movie and whether or not any previous heroes will show up (Bucky?)

How Fast is Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War?

You should watch the video because the dude did a great job with this. But the TLDR version is:

Marvel Unveils New Black Panther Movie Logo

Marvel Studios unveiled that beauty at the recent comi-com. You can check out the original below.

Much better than the Thor logo revamp lol.

Major Black Panther Casting News

A long, long time ago, we heard rumors that Michael B Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o were joining the cast of Black Panther and the fan casting began instantly.

Many characters were thrown out. MJB as Achebe, Killmonger, M'baku, redone Hunter, Kasper Cole, S'yan???

Lupita as Shuri was the most popular choice but Monica Lynne and a Dora such as Aneka were also hypothesized.

Personally, I was hoping for Lupita as Malice and MJB as either Killmonger or Achebe. My hope was that they would be used set-up Black Panther 2 actually. In Black Panther, BP would stop Klaw from invading, similar to Hudlin's "Who is the Black Panther?". At the end. Nakia would seemingly die, only to be found by Killmonger/Achebe and corrupted into Malice.

And while my fan-fic likely isn't going to happen, my fan-casting is!

Lupita is confirmed to be Nakia while MJB is confirmed to be playing Killmonger. In addition, Danai Gurira (aka MICHONNE!) is playing Okeye, another Dora popular during Priest's run who is said to be the leader of the Dora Milaje.

This cast has TALENT and we aren't done yet. We still need confirmation on Klaw (Serkis) and Ross (Freeman), we still have to cast Ramonda at the very least, along with other important Wakandan's such as S'yan, and we also need to find out if Monica Lynn is making an appearance.

But this is a damn good start. Marvel has somehow took their casting, which was already outstanding, and elevated it even further recently.

Concept Art for the MCU Panther Jet

We only got a very, very glimpse look at the Panther Jet in Civil War.

Looks pretty standard honestly. Built for speed, looks like it has anti-radar stuff on it.

I bet we get a bit more imagination with the air craft in his solo.

New Concept Art for MCU Black Panther by Andy Park

Marvel made the right choice... the suit they used in the movie was much, much better. In fact, it was perfection and might be the best comic book suit I have ever seen.

Still cool concept work though.

Video: How it Should of Have Ended- Captain America: Civil War

Not there best effort but still a chuckle here and there.

"Move or be moved"

It is hilarious how few lines Black Panther his mythos had but it left such an impact.
